Through city lights and rain,

city lights and rain on the bus

and on the train,

squeezing in extra work on the ride

so fully with family the moment he steps inside.

Children are excited

to pick father up from the bus stop,

“We didn’t want you to get wet!”

son lovingly calls to pop.

Home late,

so it’s a rush before bed,

baby girl is big,

outgrown her bassinet,

ready for a crib instead.

“Can you help me carry this tool box? It’s heavy,”

father said to son.

His response?

It’s priceless,

“I’m a strong boy!”

Spirit so pure,

onto all what a joy.

Son watches and helps,

eager to please,

watching things father does with ease.

Son holds the bolts and twists the wrench,

“This is fun!” he exclaims.

A moment so simple and sweet

had to be recorded

for time to keep.
